Hibikinada power station is a 112-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Background on Plant

The 112 MW coal-fired power station is proposed by Orix Corporation for the city of Kitakyushu. The planned commissioning date is 2018.[2] The plant would burn a mix of coal and waste wood.[3]

The EIA is under local assessment and has been approved.[4]

Construction began in 2016. As of 2016, the plant was planned for operation in 2019-2020.[5]

According to the Kiko Network and Orix, the plant entered commercial operations in December 2018.[6]
