Biographical Information

"Horst Kleinschmidt served as the head of the Fisheries branch of the South African Government from 2000-2005. On returning from exile, he served as Director of the development organisations Kagiso Trust and then Mvula Trust. In exile, Horst was a Director of the London-based International Defence and Aid Fund for Southern Africa (IDAF). The organisation provided legal representation for thousands of apartheid opponents detained without trial. It also provided stipends to spouses and children of prisoners and published extensively to inform people internationa"[1]
