I am a 65 year old widowed M.D. retired from the Veterans Administration; am also a bilteral below-knees amputee (poor venous circulation in both legs)

A ex-Veteran and double leg amputee sent this holiday greeting card to R.J. Reynolds in Winston-Salem, North Carolina saying he is a patient in Oak Hills Haven Nursing Home. He states, "I have been a smoker of Salem cigarettes for years, with no ill effects." He makes fun of the U.S. Surgeon General's warning on the packages saying cigarette smoking is dangerous to health. He cites water, food, sleep and sex as other similar "dangers."
