Biographical Information'

Mr. Ian Hay Davison is the Chairman and Member of the Management Board at Ruffer LLP. He is the Pro-Provost and Chairman of the Royal College of Art. Mr. Davison is the former Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of Lloyd's of London. He was the Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen & Co until 1982, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Review Committee from 1987 to 1988. Mr. Davison was a Director of The Independent from 1986 to 2004, and Chairman since 1993. He was the Chairman of the Sadler's Wells Foundation from 1995 to 2004." [1]

"Ian Hay Davison chaired the Railway Heritage Committee from 1999 to 2004. During the course of his career as a chartered accountant he was the managing partner of Arthur Andersen & Co; Chief Executive of Lloyd's of London and Chairman of Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets, The Independent, BHS and Mothercare, The National Mortgage Bank and, finally, the Dubai Financial Services Authority, from which he retired in 2004."[2]
