Institute for Global Chinese Affairs "Founded in 1996 as a nonprofit institution at the University of Maryland in College Park, the Institute for Global Chinese Affairs (IGCA) considers the world's Chinese-speaking population from global as well as national, regional and local perspectives. Through a variety of programs related to global Chinese affairs, including lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences, and research, we promote understanding and collaborations between Chinese-speaking and U.S. communities." They add that:

"Our unique Leadership Development Program brings current and emerging Chinese leaders in government, industry, and academia to the University of Maryland for training related to economic development, management, and policy implementation." [1]
