"The IBE was founded by Neville Cooper with other business leaders as an organisation to support business people to maintain the principle, ‘my word is my bond’. It was launched at the Mansion House on the day after the Big Bang in November 1986 with an appeal by the then Lord Mayor. Originally, it operated as a fund within the Christian Association of Business Executives (CABE), a registered charity established in 1938 to promote the study and application of Christian moral principles in the conduct of business.
