James O. Welch Company

James O. Welch, founder and former president of the James O. Welch Company, died in 1985.

"In 1963 the National Biscuit Company, now Nabisco Brands Inc., bought Mr. Welch's company. Mr. Welch was a director of Nabisco from 1963 until his retirement in 1978. His son, James O. Welch Jr., of Short Hills, N.J., is president of Nabisco.

"Mr. Welch is survived by his wife, Vedna, of Delray Beach and Osterville, Mass; his son; a daughter, Deborah W. LaGorce, of Middleburg, Va., and three sisters, Helen Tucker of Louisburg, N.C., Fanny Hall of Southern Pines, N.C., and Lina Morto of Raleigh, N.C. An older brother, Robert H. W. Welch Jr., founder of the John Birch Society, died Jan. 6." [1]
