Jeff Petersen "is the Executive Director of the Fund for Wild Nature. He has a history of activism in the environmental, animal protection, and social justice movements, both as a volunteer and a professional. He holds degrees in political science and law and is a member of the State Bar of Oregon. Before working for the Fund, Jeff was the first Attorney Fellow at Lewis & Clark Law School's National Center for Animal Law, handling litigation focused on advancing legal protections for animals. Before becoming an attorney, Jeff worked as the Membership Coordinator for the Surfrider Foundation, as a freelance photographer, and in the film industry as a camera assistant, photographer, and videographer. He also directed and produced a documentary film about Carnaval celebrations and traditions in a rural Spanish village. When not working, he is fond of surfing, hiking, yoga, photography, travel, and admiring big trees."
