Biographical Information

"Joanne Heyman, Founder of Heyman Partners, is a seasoned philanthropy executive with over twenty years experience in entrepreneurial organizations with a social purpose. Heyman Partners provides targeted services to foundations, corporations and non-profits enabling each to realize maximum benefit from the other. Prior to starting Heyman Parnters, she served as the founding Executive Director of the Urban Zen Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by designer Donna Karan where she oversaw the foundation’s programs and the creation of the Urban Zen Center. Ms Heyman has also been the Executive Director of The International Center in New York, a venerable educational organization providing English language and Cultural training for immigrants, asylees, refugees and other newcomers to the United States. Earlier, she was the Vice President of The Corporation of Yaddo, the country’s premier artists’ colony. She has also served as a consultant to The Goldman Sachs Foundation, Managing Director of Financial Services Volunteer Corps in various capacities at the American Jewish World Service. Ms. Heyman holds a Masters in International Affairs from the Columbia University School of Public and International Affairs and a Bachelors Degree in Comparative Literature from Smith College. She also serves on the Board of LitWorld and on the Leadership Council of the Support Center for Non-profit Management." [1]
