Joe Arellano is the Vice President of Communications at the Bay Area Council. He is responsible for shaping the Council’s communications strategies and branding, and he serves as the chief spokesman. Prior to joining the Bay Area Council, Arellano was a spokesman and communications director for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. He also currently serves as a commissioner for the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission. [1]

He is mentioned in documents obtained under an open records investigation of collusion among the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and various external individuals and entities in the defense and promotion of promoting sewage sludge as "organic biosolids compost."
