John F. Turner "former Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International and Scientific Affairs from November 11, 2001 to July 8, 2005. He received the Department of State’s Distinguished Honor Award from Secretary of State Colin Powell in January 2005. Prior to serving in the Department of State, Mr. Turner was president and chief executive officer of The Conservation Fund. Between 1989 and 1993, he was director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Mr. Turner also served in the Wyoming State Legislature for 19 years and is a past president of the Wyoming State Senate. Mr. Turner is a director of American Electrical Power, Inc., Peabody Energy Company, Ashland Inc., and The Bank of Jackson Hole. He is a visiting professor at the University of Wyoming in the School of Environment & Natural Resources and is a managing partner in a family business, The Triangle X Ranch, in Wyoming. Director since July 11, 2005." [1]
