John Groom

John Groom "is Head of Safety, Health and Environment at Anglo American plc, one of the world's largest mining companies. He has an engineering background and 19 years of management experience. He is active in the international mining and metals industries' journey towards a better understanding of sustainable development and the role the sector must play. To this end he has been closely involved in a number of international multi-stakeholder initiatives including the Global Mining Initiative and the Mining Minerals and Sustainable Development project. These prepared the way for the industries' contribution to the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development."
