"John was the CEO of Qantas Airways, the Australian national airline, where his career spanned 25 years. He then spent seven years with News Corporation as General Manager Commercial.

"John is now a professional company director and management consultant. He is Chairman of Wolseley, an Honorary Life Governor of the Research Foundation of Information Technology, and a Director of Adelaide Airport Limited, Brisbane Airport Corporation Limited and Ventracor Limited.

"John has a BSc in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Sydney and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Marketing Institute, and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport."
