Jonathan G. Weiss "is Managing Director and the Co-Head of Investment Banking & Capital Markets at Wachovia Securities. He is jointly responsible for the Firm’s investment banking and capital markets activities with corporate and private equity clients. Mr. Weiss joined Wachovia in June 2005 to lead the Financial Sponsors Group and assumed his present responsibilities in May 2008, after 25 years at J.P. Morgan and its predecessors. From 2000 until he joined Wachovia, Mr. Weiss headed J.P. Morgan’s global financial sponsor business. Prior to that, he was based in Hong Kong, where from 1997 to 2000, he was Chief Executive of Chase Manhattan Asia, Ltd. and Chase’s Head of Investment Banking in Asia Pacific. From 1992 through 1996, he headed Chase’s Retail Industries Group in New York, and, before that, he was a senior transactor in Chemical Bank’s Loan Syndications and Acquisition Finance Groups. After joining Chemical Bank in 1980, he served as Assistant Representative in Mexico City from 1982 to 1986. Mr. Weiss serves on the Board of Youth, I.N.C., a youth-oriented not-for-profit based in New York City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from Princeton University." [1]
