Biographical Information

"Karin Davison is a Director and co-founder of the Humanity-Without-Borders Foundation. She was educated in Germany, England, France, and Spain with a focus on American studies, and linguistics. During her formative years she worked as a financial interpreter on Wall Street. Prior to her assignments in television international news and the arts, Karin was also a contributing editor for the German edition of Time Magazine. She freelanced for many magazines before accepting a full time position in New York as producer for ARD, the German TV network. Her responsibilities included coverage of the UN, the arts, science, sports, and politics in the Americas.

"Following a later appointment as correspondent for Swiss TV with the emphasis on politics, arts, and social issues, she started to produce her own features and documentaries for the European TV market and PBS, for which she received an Emmy nomination.

"From 1998-2001, Karin was an international PR consultant for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Maestro Daniel Barenboim. During this time she also traveled through the Middle East to help Maestro Barenboim and Prof Edward Said establish the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in Weimar, Germany, consisting of Israeli, Palestinian, Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian, and Lebanese young musicians. Mr. Yo Yo Ma was amongst the teachers.

"Karin has also served as cultural consultant to the Ford Foundation, and international media consultant for the Spanish (Crown) Prince of Asturias Foundation. She is currently serving as International Consultant for the Niemeyer Center in Spain, and as Vice President of the American Moroccan Institute.

"The subject matters of some of Karin’s more than 100 documentary productions have included: Norman Mailer; Jackie Kennedy Onassis; Hilary Clinton; De Beers; The Hemingways; John F. Kennedy; Alfred Eisenstaedt; Women in Leadership in the Arab World; Lost stories of the Holocaust in North Africa; Arab Royalties."[1]
