Karl N. Stauber "became president and chief executive officer of the Northwest Area Foundation in June 1996. Prior to this, he served as the under secretary for research, education, and economics, and as the deputy under secretary for rural development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He has held other posts with various foundations, including the Needmor Fund in Ohio and the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation in North Carolina. Stauber holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the Union Institute in Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in American studies from the University of North Carolina." [1]
