Katarína Vajdova is an advisor of Transitions Online and director of the Civil Society Development Foundation.

"In January 2000, a new journalism program was born, in a small castle outside of Bratislava, Slovakia. Created to serve as a rigorous post-graduate course for students from Central and Eastern Europe, it was a joint project of the Independent Journalism Foundation in New York and the Academica Istropolitana Nova (AINova), a small international university in Slovakia. Both institutions were already well known to the Knight International Press Fellowship Program. More than a dozen Knight Fellows have been stationed in the last six years at the Independent Journalism Foundation’s centers in Budapest, Bratislava, Bucharest, and at its former center in Prague. AINova executive director Katarina Vajdova was also familiar; she was the director of the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ) in Bratislava." [1]
