"Thank you, Aileen, and good evening, everyone. I would like to thank the Women's Foundation of California being such a forward-thinking organization. There was a time when human trafficking was not yet on the national agenda; and in 1998, the Women's Foundation was the very first funder of the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking, helping us to put this modern-day form of slavery on the map. I'm humbled to receive this recognition from the Foundation, and also with Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton, also a groundbreaker in the anti-trafficking movement..." [1]
