Reported by Democracy Now! on 9 Sept. 2004:

A new investigation by UPI and CNN has found that a controversial anti-malaria drug called Lariam might have led to six Special Forces soldiers to commit suicide. The joint investigation uncovered what reporters described as a startling pattern of violence and suicide by the country's most elite soldiers who used the drug. California Dianne Feinstein has called on the Pentagon to reassess its use of the drug. The report also says Lariam might have played a role in three cases in 2002 when Special Forces soldiers at Fort Bragg murdered their wives and then committed suicide.
