Biographical Information

"Larry joined MITIE as a non-executive director on 1 February 2010. Until his retirement from IBM in July 2010, Larry Hirst was Chairman of IBM (EMEA), where he worked in a variety of roles for 33 years. He is a non-executive director of ARM Holdings Plc and an adjunct Professor and Chairman of the Digital Cities Exchange Board at Imperial College. He is Chair of the UK Trade and Investment Executive Board for the telecoms and IT sectors and a Global Ambassador to British Airways and Monitise International Advisory Boards. In 2009 he was appointed as a private sector Business Ambassador by the UK Prime Minister. Larry was made a CBE in 2006, in recognition of services to the IT industry." [1]
