Lauretta J. Bruno "is a director of South North Development Initiative and volunteers her time and expertise to South North as Vice President for Africa. A US national, she has more than twenty-five years of experience as an investment banker. She currently runs the firm Gramercy Partners LLC in New York which provides investment management, financial, sovereign risk and related services.

"Lauretta was with JP Morgan for eighteen years. From 1985 to 1996 she was Area Manager and global relationship manager for governments, central banks, government-owned and private corporations headquartered in Southern Africa. Capital raised in public markets after 1994 for her South African clients and their subsidiaries in Europe, US, Canada, South America and China exceeded $3B syndicated and other loans, $550MM equity, $1.2B bonds, and 495MM private placements. Lauretta led three institutional investor trips to South Africa for JP Morgan clients. She also represented JP Morgan on the International Standstill Coordinating Committee of leading international banks rescheduling $18Billion of South African debt until 2001.
