Biographical Details

"Mr. Leonard L. Silverstein is the Co-Founder and Partner of Silverstein and Mullens. He has been engaged in the practice of law for over 40 years. Mr. Silverstein also serves as a Founder and Chief Editor of the Tax Management publication series. He is a Vice President of Tax Management Inc. Formerly, Mr. Silverstein served as an Attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. He is a Member of Advisory Board at Stone Canyon Venture Partners, LP. Mr. Silverstein has been a Director at Movado Group Inc., since 1975 and Tax Management Inc. He has served as a Director of Chevy Chase Bank. Mr. Silverstein is also a Director at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Symphony Orchestra, the White House Historical Association, the French-American Foundation, and the Choral Arts Society of Washington.

"Mr. Silverstein is also a Treasurer of the Madison Council of the Library of Congress. He served as a Vice Chairman of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and an Honorary Trustee. Previously, Mr. Silverstein served as a President of the Alliance Francaise of Washington and National Symphony Orchestra Association. He served as a Treasurer of the Madison Council of the Library of Congress and President of French-American Cultural Foundation. Mr. Silverstein also served on the legal advisory staff of the Treasury Department, on the Advisory Group of the House Ways and Means Committee, as an Executive Director of the “Filer” Commission on Private Philanthropy and Public Needs, on President Reagan’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, as the Chairman of President-Elect Nixon’s Task Force on Taxes, and as a Member of the Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. He holds a Law degree from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Yale University." [1]
