Loren Blackford

"Loren Blackford is President and former Treasurer of the Sierra Club Board, and former chair of the Sierra Club Foundation Board. She seeks to build public demand, political will and investment decisions to drive fast climate action that creates jobs, protects communities and empowers those most directly affected. As a member of the Ceres President’s Council, Loren works on moving investors and corporations toward stronger action on climate and sustainability. As a member of Rachel’s Network and the Rachel’s Action Network board, she engages with and supports women environmental donors and political leaders.

"Loren previously supported community-based organizations with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation and advised foundations, financial institutions and the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development on sustainable community development with Living Cities. Prior to that, she worked on international environmental negotiations with the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service and the Quaker UN Office, with a focus on engaging non-governmental organizations from developing countries. Loren graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School and Oberlin College. She lives in New York City with her husband and two teenagers." [1]
