The Mary T. and Frank L. Hoffman Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by Mary and Frank Hoffman.

Overview

The Hoffman family foundation describes itself as a biblically based. They promote a plant-based diet, kind and responsible stewardship of creation. They advocate for the elimination of animal testing, use of animals for food, commercial use of animals and protection of the environment from polluting and destructive practices. [1] The foundation promotes a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and Judeo-Christian ethics, while respecting doctrinal differences. [2]

Education & outreach

The foundation hosts the website all-creatures.org and maintain a large, archival on-line library for animal advocacy and related dietary, environmental, religious /spiritual issues. The library includes educational materials, essays, literature and recipes and has over 50,000 documents. They also track animal related issues and provide action alerts for news and campaigns in their weekly news letter. [3]

The foundation provides an internet library of educational materials for teachers and students on cruelty free living. [4] They also support non-profit, grass roots vegan, vegetarian, animal rights and environmental organizations by publishing, maintaining and hosting their websites free of charge. [5] Organizations hosted by the Hoffman Family foundation include; Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! (SAEN) [6] and the Christian Vegetarian Association (CVA). [7]

Board members

  • Mary T. & Frank L. Hoffman, founding trustees, are dedicated to furthering a cruelty-free life style from a spiritual and religious perspective which compassionately includes both humans and non-humans. They also strive to protect the environment as a heritage for future generations. [8] Frank Hoffman owns and operates a construction management company that specializes in building nursing homes, adult homes, hospitals, medical offices and community residences for the elderly. [9]
  • Michael A. Budkie - Founder & Executive Director, Stop Animal Exploitation Now! (SAEN), a national research watchdog organization. In 2001 SAEN filed the largest official complaint in history with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), uncovering laboratory abuses at dozens of well known universities and research facilities.[10]
