Masih Alinejad

Masoumeh (aka. Masih) Alinejad-Ghomi (Persian: مسیح علی‌نژاد‎‎, born 11 September 1976 in Ghomikola, Babol) is an Iranian activist, journalist and writer who lives in New York City. Alinejad currently works as a presenter/producer at VOA Persian Service, a reporter on popular satirical TV show OnTen, a correspondent for Radio Farda, a frequent contributor to Manoto television, and a contributing editor to IranWire.

She is the recipient of Women' Rights Award from UN Watch in 2015[1], for a Facebook campaign, My Stealthy Freedom, which showcases picture of Iranian women without a headscarf, which is mandotary in public for all women by Iranian laws.

Alinejad, an outspoken opponent of the Iranian regime, has since been very vocal against female foreign leaders and diplomats who visit Iran, particularly those who visit Iran after the country's nuclear deal with six world powers which lifted the UN and EU economic sanctions.

Media Campaigns

Swedish delegation visit to Iran

After an official visit by a Swedish delegation in 2017 to Tehran, she started a wide-spread media campaign against the Swedish Foreign Minister, Margot Mallstorm, and other female ministers and officials from the Social Democrat Party. The campaign was heavily publicized by pro-Israeli organizations such UN Watch and UANI. Israel has been a strong opponent of the nuclear deal and the lifting of the sanctions against Iran.
