The Spark M. Matsunaga Institute for Peace "at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa is a multi-disciplinary academic community of scholars, students, practitioners". [1]

"The Institute for Peace was established in 1986 and renamed, in 1990, to honor former United States Senator Spark M. Matsunaga, a leader in the movement to promote peace." [2]
