Mike Moore (Mississippi Attorney General): Plaintiff

Biography

Mike Moore was Mississippi Attorney General in 1994. He filed suit against the tobacco companies in May of 1994, in state court of equity in Pascagoula, MS to recover the cost of treating tobacco-related illnesses among welfare recipients. The suit seeks compensation for Medicaid and other welfare costs, punitive damages, attorney's fees, and damages under the legal theories of unjust enrichment and common-law public nuisance (WSJ 5/24/94).
