"Ms. Ellis is responsible for business development. Clients of the Foundation range from Fortune 100 companies to the White House, private foundations, federal agencies, and foreign governments.

"Active in the environmental policy arena, Ms. Ellis has traveled extensively throughout the world working on global resource issues, with particular attention on the clean energy and water sectors. For the Global Environment Facility, a $6 billion environmental fund, she supports the effective management of their clean water portfolio in China, Central and Eastern Europe, and South and Latin America.

"For the Foundation, Ms. Ellis focuses on business and partnership development, communication strategies, program implementation, and marketing. She has developed numerous programs for corporations, the federal government and private foundations that integrate the environment, sustainable development and technology...

"She is also the founder of The Coventry Group, L.L.P., a company that she co-owns with her husband, which offers marketing, communications and government relations expertise. Coventry advises corporations, foundations and municipalities, helping them develop business through effective marketing and government relations strategies. Prior to founding her own company, she helped establish a successful Internet software development company which was sold in 1997.

"In her early career, she served as a speechwriter and strategic planner for the Chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gaining national and international recognition for the Corps environmental initiatives during the first Bush Administration. She was also a primary agent responsible for developing the World Engineering Partnership for Sustainable Development, an international coalition of 12 million engineers dedicated to sustainable economic development. She represented this partnership at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. She also developed and published a book on the topic entitled “The Role of Engineering in Sustainable Development.”

"Monica lives with her husband Chuck and their three children in northern Virginia. She holds a degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Interdisciplinary Studies (Journalism, Political Science, and Sociology). After her graduation from college, she spent several months working as a freelance writer for several St. Louis area newspapers.

"She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Capitol Chapter) and actively fundraises for this group. She is also on the Board of the Global Environment & Technology Foundation. She is an active member of Christchurch United Methodist Church and is a volunteer at Silverbrook Elementary School." [1]
