Professor Myles McGregor-Lowndes "is a professor in the Faculty of Business at the Queensland University of Technology, Director of the Centre of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies.

"Myles' special research interest is the law and regulation of nonprofit corporations. He is editor of the Incorporated Associations Manual and contributor of nonprofit corporations chapters to Queensland Solicitor's Manual, The Legal Resources Book (Qld), and nonprofit taxation chapters of Australian Transaction Taxes. He contributed the chapter on Clubs and Associations to Butterworths Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents. Myles was the chief editor and contributor to the book, Legal Issues for Non-profit Associations.

"Myles is also a member of the ATO Charities Consultative Committee on the introduction of the New Tax System and adviser to the ATO on nonprofit taxation training and education materials. He is presently a Governor of the Queensland Community Foundation.

"In June 2003, Myles was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for 'service to the community by providing education and support in legal, financial and administrative matters to nonprofit organisations'." [1]
