"The National Center for Middle East Studies is involved in the FORWARD program, providing training for stakeholders and conducting consensus building. In association with Search for Common Ground, the Center plans to establish a Center for Conflict Prevention." [1]

In May 2009 Ambassador Margaret Scobey visited the Center and said: "For more than three decades, the United States has had with Egypt the common goal of strengthening peace and mutual understanding in the region and we have stood together through many challenges. Because of the strength of our partnership and the endurance of our friendship, we believe the world and the region is a safer and more secure place." (She began her talk saying "Thank you very much Dr. El Din Helal and Dr. Shafiq for inviting me here.") [1]
