"Nick Chance was commissioned into the Royal Green Jackets, seeing active service during the “Confrontation” conflict in Borneo and Malaysia during the 1960s. He subsequently joined the Foreign Office and later left to work as journalist on the Financial Times. He has served on the Boards of a number of City and industrial companies and was a Magistrate from 1985 until his retirement from the Westminster Bench in 2013. He was Private Secretary to HRH Prince Michael of Kent at Kensington Palace from 1997-2016. He was awarded the CVO (Commander of the Victorian Order) in 2014."[1]
