Oilgener

From 1999: "Chilean oil company OilGener is laying 3D seismic studies in one block in southern Chile and working on recovery works in five others in Argentina, according to a spokesperson for OilGener's parent company, local power producer Gener.

"The work is preparation for next year's search for a strategic partner, Gener's Maria Teresa Bravo told BNA.

"In February Gener president Juan Antonio Guzman said the company would seek a partner for OilGener to help develop assets acquired in December 1998 after the takeover of Canada's Cordex. At the time he did not discard a possible alliance with Chile's state oil company Enap.

"OilGener has varying interests in five blocks in Argentina: Santa Barbara in Salta province; Dona Juana and Loma Cortaderal near Mendoza; Laguna Los Capones in Santa Cruz; and Del Mosquito in Patagonia. In Chile OilGener controls 55% of Fell Block, while Enap has the other 45%.

"OilGener may invest some US$15mn over the next three years in these fields, Guzman said. Enap earlier reported plans to drill an exploratory well early next year in Fell Block. " [1]
