Paul Bate

"Dr Paul Bate is the Executive Director of Strategy and Intelligence. Paul has worked at the centre of health policy and delivery for more than 10 years. He joined CQC from Downing Street, where he was the senior policy adviser on health and adult social care to both the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister. He also worked for the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit under the previous government, where he led the health standards team and ran national reviews on cancer, elective waiting times, long-term conditions and healthcare-associated infections. Paul has a strong background in strategy development and organisational design, including working for consultants McKinsey & Company and 2020 Delivery."
