Paul A. Lacey
Paul Lacey is Clerk of The Board of Directors and Clerk of the Corporation for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). He has served in these roles since November, 2001.
"Born in Philadelphia and educated in the Philadelphia public schools, Lacey received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and obtained his Ph.D. from Harvard University. A Phi Beta Kappa, author of numerous articles and recipient of many fellowships and awards, he is a Professor of English Emeritus at Earlham College. Paul also serves on the Board of Friends Council on Education and is a member of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting and Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting.
"Paul Lacey’s involvement with AFSC began in 1954. Highlights of his long tenure there include service on the Conscientious Objectors Services and Rights of Conscience Committee, the Standing Nominating Committee, the AFSC Nobel Peace Prize Nominating Committee, as well as the AFSC National Board of Directors."
