Paul de Rooij

Paul de Rooij is a Dutch mathematician and economist.

"He has been a committed activist on Palestine since the first intifada. Among others, he has written for Z Magazine, Agenda (Ann Arbor), CounterPunch, Arab Media Internet Network, Miftah and some Media Research journals. His interests include: effectiveness of propaganda and the formation of ideology, language and discourse, contemporary Palestinian history, modern European history, Latin American history, globalization and development, and ecology. His favourite writers on Palestinian/ME issues include Edward Said, Noam Chomsky, Robert Fisk, Edward Herman, Azmi Bishara, Uri Avnery, Amira Hass and Michael Palumbo. Politically, he belongs to the generic left; he says that, basically, he "is driven by issues of justice and peace (in that order)"." [1]
