Biographical Information

"Dr. Rita F. Pierson is an educational trainer and consultant, motivational speaker/teacher, author and human resource developer. With more than 30 years of experience in education, Dr. Pierson, provides a wealth of experience and wisdom for educators and laypersons alike. She earned her Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration at Texas Southern University, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling. Rita is a celebrated educator whose passion is to help all children (especially those from impoverished backgrounds) to realize their fullest potential.

"Rita is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and has served as an elementary school administrator and guidance counselor, in addition to having taught at every level of the public school spectrum (elementary, middle and high school). During her teaching tenure, she was twice voted “Teacher of the Year”. Rita developed and implemented a school/community involvement program for a large elementary school, as well as organized and trained an in-school crisis team for students in need of immediate intervention.

"A dynamic and motivating speaker, Rita’s sessions on poverty, educational leadership, early childhood development and parental involvement are practical and innovative. Her unique perspective on understanding, teaching and mentoring African-American boys has been added to many school improvement plans to reduce the dropout rate within this group.
