"The mission of the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute is three-fold: to educate our students in public policy, to support applied policy research, and to foster creative dialogue. The institute provides a place for students to analyze critical public policy issues and experience meaningful civic engagement; a place for faculty to research, teach, and write constructively about the most important issues of the day; and a place for scholarly and public audiences to participate in high-profile lectures, seminars, and conferences.

"Through Roosevelt House, Hunter College will offer interdisciplinary undergraduate programs in public policy and human rights. Policy-relevant courses within a variety of departments will be held in its seminar rooms and lecture halls. Through the generous support of Bernard and Ann Spitzer and other donors, the institute will sponsor a variety of student engagement programs, including internships, research fellowships, travel programs and extracurricular activities."
