Biographical Details

"Ms. Stella M. Thompson is Co-Founder and Principal of Governance West Inc., and served as its Principal Consultant from 1996 to 2008. Ms. Thompson served as the President of Stellar Energy Ltd., from 1991 to 1996. She served as a Vice President of Planning, Business Information & Systems of Petro-Canada Products from 1988 to June 1991. She serves as a Vice Chairman of Genome Alberta. She serves as a Director of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Alberta's Electricity, Balancing Pool and Calgary Airport Authority. She has been a Director of Reservlogix Corp., since September 12, 2007. She served as an Independent Director of Talisman Energy Inc., from 1995 to May 5, 2010. Ms. Thompson served as a Director of Amec Inc., (formerly Agra Inc.). She served as a Director of Laidlaw International Inc., (formerly Laidlaw Inc.) since July 1994. Previously, she served on a number of publicly traded companies and science based organizations. Prior to commencing her consulting practice and directorships in 1992, She worked for over 30 years in diverse roles in the oil and gas business in Australia and Canada with a number of major oil companies. She has been awarded the ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors. She previously served on the Board of ENMAX Corporation for five years. Ms. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from University of Alberta and University of Calgary respectively." [1]
