Stephen L. Wasby (B.A., Antioch, 1959; M.A., 1961, Ph.D., 1962, University of Oregon) "Professor Emeritus of Political Science, joined the faculty in 1978 from the faculty at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and retired in 1999. His principal research interests have been the federal appellate courts and interest group-based civil rights litigation. His present major project is a study of decision-making in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Justice System Jounal and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth.

"He was a Congressional Fellow of the American Political Science Association; held a Russell Sage Post-Doctoral Residency in Law and Social Science at the University of Wisconsin; has been a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; the U.S. Naval Academy; the Faculty of Law of University of Victoria (B.C.); and the University of Toronto (as senior Fulbright faculty).

"He is the author of many articles and of more than ten books, including Race Relations Litigation in an Age of Complexity (1995) and The Supreme Court in the Federal Judicial System (4th ed., 1993). He serves on the editorial boards of Justice System Journal and Western Legal History." [1]
