Biographical Information

"Dr. Steven J. Gilbert is the Chairman at Gilbert Global Equity Partners. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Sun Group (USA) at SUN Group. He has more than 38 years of experience in investment banking, law, and private equity activities. Prior to this, from 1992 to 1997, Dr. Gilbert worked as the Founder and Managing General Partner at Soros Capital LP, and also as a Principal Advisor at Quantum Industrial Holdings Ltd. Before this, from 1988 to 1992, he served as the Founder and Managing Director at Commonwealth Capital Partners L.P. Previously, Dr. Gilbert also served as the Founder, Managing General Partner, and Limited Partner at Chemical Venture Partners, which he founded in 1984 and served until 1988. Earlier, Dr. Gilbert has practiced law, employed at Goodwin Procter and Hoar in Boston, Massachusetts. He worked as an Associate in Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley and Co. from 1972 to 1976, a Vice President at Wertheim and Co. Inc. from 1976 until 1978, and as the Managing Director at E. F. Hutton International from 1978 to 1980. Dr. Gilbert had been a Member of the Board of Directors at Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. since 2001 and also serves as a Member of the Compensation and Nominating Committee and Finance Committee. He is the Vice Chairman of Executive Board of MidOcean Partners.

"Dr. Gilbert is a Member of the Board of Directors at NFO Worldwide Inc., since September 1991, a Member of Executive, Audit, and Compensation Committees. He also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Terra Nova Bermuda Holding Ltd. since December 1994 and Terra Nova Insurance (Bermuda) Co. Ltd. He also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Colep Holding Ltd., Edmunds.com, Optical Capital Group, the Asian Infrastructure Fund, One.Tel Ltd., and also at several multi-national high tech companies. Dr. Gilbert is also a Vice-Chairman at OCG Ventures LLC. He also served as a Member of the Board of Star City Casino Holdings Pty. Ltd., Veritas Inc., Ionex; iSky Inc. (since February 2000). He was the Chairman of Dura Automotive Systems Inc. He had been a Member of the Board of Directors of LCC International Inc., since February 1999 and served as the Chairman of Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a Member and Chairperson of Audit Committee. Previously, he served as the Chairman at NFO Worldwide Inc., from September 1991 until February 1993 and as a Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from February 1993 until March 1998. Dr. Gilbert also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Impresse Corporation since November 1999 and a Member of the Compensation Committee and Industrial Advisory Board. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1970 and practiced Law at Goodwin Procter. Dr. Gilbert holds a Doctorate degree, a J.D. from Harvard Law School; an M.B.A. degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration; and a B.S. degree from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania."[1]
