Stuart Brown

Stuart Brown "moved to De Beers Group to succeed Paddy Kell as Finance Director from February 2006, and serves on the boards of De Beers s.a., De Beers Consolidated Mines, Debswana Diamond Company as well as Namdeb Diamond Corporation. He became Head of Finance for De Beers Consolidated Mines in March 2003 and took charge of the corporate, financial, tax and accounting issues.

"Stuart joined De Beers in 1992 at Premier (now Cullinan) Mine and has experience at mine, group exploration and corporate finance levels. Before taking up his current position at Corporate Headquarters in Johannesburg, Stuart progressed through a series of positions at Cullinan, at Teemane Manufacturing Company in Botswana, Exploration in Kimberley and Johannesburg and Group Finance in Johannesburg before being appointed to his present position.

"Stuart was born in Cape Town in 1964 and spent his childhood in South African and the United Kingdom. He matriculated at the South African College Schools (SACS) in Cape Town in 1982. He managed a restaurant before starting Accounting articles and study through Unisa in 1987. Stuart completed his articles in 1991 and worked in commerce for six months before joining De Beers in 1992. "
