Sunil Sharma "areas of expertise are classical Persian literature, Urdu literature, South Asian culture, travelogues and gender studies. His most recent book is Amir Khusraw: The Poet of Sultans and Sufis (2005). His translation of the first Urdu travelogue to Europe by an Indian Muslim woman, Atiya Fyzee-Rahamin (1877-1967), will be published shortly with a study of her life and writings."
