Susan Maree Crennan was appointed to the High Court of Australia "in November 2005. At the time of her appointment she was a judge of the Federal Court of Australia, having been appointed to that office in February 2004.

"Justice Crennan was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1979 and the New South Wales Bar in 1980. She was appointed a Queen's Counsel for Victoria in 1989 and for New South Wales in 1990. Justice Crennan was President of the Australian Bar Association in 1994-95, Chairman of the Victorian Bar Council in 1993-94, and the Commissioner for Human Rights in 1992." [1]
