Biography

Dr. Oparil is the Director of the Vascular Biology and Hypertension Program at the University of Alabama. She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. Her areas of expertise include biomedical research generally, the quality of Council for Tobacco Research's grant-in-aid program, the quality of Council for Tobacco Research's Scientific Advisory Board, the peer-review process for awarding research grants, and the role of contract research.
