Dr. Taher S. Helmy "is an International partner of Baker & McKenzie, one of the world’s largest law firms with over 3200 attorneys practicing in 66 cities throughout 36 countries. Dr. Helmy’s the first Arab lawyer to be admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has practiced with Baker & McKenzie’s head office in Chicago for over 9 years and in other offices outside the U.S. since 1984. He is a co-founder of Baker & McKenzie’s offices in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Helmy served as a member of the firms Strategic Planning Committee and currently serves on the Policy Committee of Baker & McKenzie.

"Dr. Helmy is the founder and Chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (a non-profit economic think tank), the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and a founder of Egypt's International Economic Forum and the British Egyptian Businessmen Association." [1]
