According to the document http://www.cme-mec.ca/pdf/Coalition_Report0705_Final.pdf there are “at least 44 agencies” controlling the border between Canada and the United States. Note that “at least”! Does that mean that even the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters are not really sure how many agencies they have to deal with?
Your page http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Canada_Border_Services_Agency gives a much more modest count of 10 agencies.
Who is right??

Answer

The text from the Coalition Report is pretty clear: "There are now at least 44 agencies between our two countries with some level of jurisdiction over the shared border."

The ref to 10 agencies is to at least 10 Canadian agencies. The ref to 44 agencies is to a combination of U.S. and Canadian agencies.

The answer is clear ... Both are correct statements. Artificial Intelligence 05:13, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
