Talk:Edelman lends E.ON UK a hand on the company's global warming woes

I don't think this article provides a valid example of greenwashing. Minimal research revealed to me that E.ON are in fact replacing the coal-fired plant ALREADY at Kingsnorth with more efficient models. The company webpage claims:

"Rated at 800MW each, the new units would be 20 per cent more efficient than the existing power station, allowing for a reduction in carbon emissions of almost two million tonnes a year when compared to current plant performance."(http://www.eon-uk.com/generation/supercritical.aspx)

It seems to be that either I've misunderstood something important here or the protestors did. Could someone explain this to me?

I should add I have nothing to do with E.ON, I'm just a student researching an essay.
