ORIGINS OF NORQUIST

What is meant by saying he is "well-connected"? Is that a synonym for "wealthy" or "vindictive"? Just wondering.

No, it just means "well-connected" to prominent movers and shakers within the conservative movement. The article itself describes these connections. I don't think Norquist himself would dispute the description of him as well-connected. --Sheldon Rampton 23:14, 5 Oct 2004 (EDT)

Relocating pending a rewrite - donlt have time right now but as it is it doesn't really flow with the rest of the profile. --Bob Burton 21:26, 26 Jul 2005 (EDT)

According to many different sources, Grover Norquist Norquist has been exposed as the founder of the Islamic Insitute, a group believed to be funded by foreign governments, Wahhabi Islam (Bin Laden's sect) elements in Saudi Arabia, and U.S. Muslim groups recently raided by a special Treasury Department task force for funding Al Qaeda and Palestinian terrorists. The Islamic Institute's website lists the following goals:

1. Cultivate and expand Muslim activists and mobilize the community at the state and federal levels on issues affecting the American Muslim community.

2. Provide a platform to promote an Islamic perspective on domestic issues (social and fiscal) to help enhance the Muslim community's input in the decision-making process.

3. Run aggressive campaigns at the state and federal levels on issues affecting the American Muslim community.

Saudi Arabia Wahhabi funding appears to be instrumental is creating and sustaining a large number of organizations involved in troubling activities such as:

1. Recruiting felons into Islam in U.S. prisons

2. Recruiting U.S. military personnel

3. Proselytizing on more than 500 college campuses across the United States

4. Covertly raising funds for terrorist groups through U.S.-based Muslim charities

5. Providing financial support - and gaining control - of 70-80 percent of U.S. mosques, and

6. Setting up private Muslim K-12 schools to indoctrinate U.S. Muslims into fundamentalist Islam (We ran an expose on one of these located just a few miles from our HQ which you can find at http://www.citizensoldier.org/madrassa.html .)

Grover Norquist President Americans for Tax Reform [1]

Norquist Raising Funds To Help Defeat Homosexual Marriage Ban In Texas

No one who is even the least conservative can be involved in anything like this. I suggest Norquist et al watch the video "It's Not Gay" and then decide if they can support this type of activity. It's this type of lifestyle that helps drive our medical insurance costs out the roof. Live your life as you want, but don't ask me to pay for it. One day you'll be on fixed income and will no longer be able to afford insurance. Remember the old adage "What goes around comes around?" Haven't we seen enough evidence in this matter of the truth of that??

Norquist Raising Funds To Help Defeat Homosexual Marriage Ban In Texas

Dear Neva,

You may or may not be aware that the scheduled speaker at the Log Cabin Republicans of Dallas' Grand Ol' Party on October 15 is Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. According to a press release from The Log Cabin group funds raised at the event will go to support the defeat of Proposition 2, the Marriage Amendment.

Should you be a financial supporter of Americans for Tax Reform, I felt you should be aware of it.

The press release states: "The local group is paying part of the salary for a field director representing Log Cabin Republicans to work helping defeat Proposition 2."

Your support of Americans for Tax Reform is supporting the effort to defeat Proposition 2, and by contrast to help promote homosexual marriage in Texas.

I felt you should be aware of this.

Please forward this to friends and family.

It's Not Gay: This 28-minute video presents a story few have heard, allowing former homosexuals the opportunity to tell their own story in their own words. Along with medical and mental health experts, these individuals express a clear warning that the sanitized version of homosexuality being presented to students is not the whole truth.
