Harold Ford, Jr. (D-Tenn.), is a "moderate Democrat" in the U.S. House of Representatives who "supports service-oriented groups such as Learn and Serve America, Americorps and the Senior Corps. Among his caucus and nonlegislative committees are the Congressional Black Caucus, the Blue Dog Coalition (moderate and conservative Democrats), Faith-Based Initiative Caucus, the House Centrist Coalition, and the New Democrat Coalition." In September 2004, Ford was part of the National Service Caucus, a "bipartisan group of congressmen," which included "Reps. Tom Osborne (R-Neb.), David Price (D-N.C) and Christopher Shays (R-Conn.)." [2]
