I ran into a neocon/Scoop Jackson connection, but my unease with the source as well as with the footnoted attribution for the allegation has caused me to place it here, thinking it needs another attribution to be considered sound, but if true, is a valuable connection which should be cited.

"During the 1970s, Senator Jackson hired brilliant assistants like Paul Wolfowitz, Doug Feith, Richard Perle and Elliot Abrams"
Denis Boneau, "Cold War to dominate thinking: The New York Intellectuals and the invention of neoconservatism", The Voltaire Network, January 20, 2005 - (the footnoted attribution to this is given as: "Las raíces históricas del neoconservadurismo: un ataque difamatorio contra el trostkismo", World socialist web site, May 23, 2003)
